About The Lodge

The Lodge is a residential care home in Somerset, near Langport, providing care for people living with a learning disability. It has links to a sister home, Immacolata House. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

The Lodge accommodates up to three people living with a learning disability near Langport, with access to facilities at the sister home, Immacolata House. At inspection, three people were living in separate accommodation at the service. Staff prioritised residents' emotional wellbeing during periods of isolation, supporting them to stay connected with loved ones in meaningful ways.

The service had implemented robust infection control measures including visitor health screening with lateral flow tests and temperature checks. A dedicated infection control lead supported staff to understand the importance of wearing PPE correctly, and regular COVID testing was carried out for both staff and residents. Infection prevention and control audits took place with action plans developed to address any required improvements, ensuring the registered manager had effective oversight of these practices.
