The Lodge

This residential care home provides personal and nursing care to up to 30 people, primarily those with autism and learning disabilities. The service operates as a Christian home across a country park setting with six different bungalows and houses. Some residents live in self-contained flats while others have their own bedroom and ensuite with shared communal spaces. At inspection, 29 people were using the service.

Inspectors found that while staff generally supported residents to have choice and control over their lives using the least restrictive approach, there were gaps in the service. Written guidance to support staff in this work was not always clear, and some residents' specific health needs were not adequately assessed and documented. Additionally, some staff had not completed mandatory training regarding support for people with learning disabilities and autism.
