The Lodge

The Lodge is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 44 people across two buildings. The main house supports mostly older people, some living with dementia, while a separate coach house accommodates up to five people with mental health needs. At the time of inspection, 33 people were living there.

Staff demonstrated good infection prevention and control practices, using personal protective equipment appropriately and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout. High touch points were regularly sanitised, windows and doors were kept open for ventilation, and the temperature remained comfortable. Clear care plans were in place relating to COVID-19, ensuring risks could be mitigated and people supported in a personalised way. The service had appropriate policies and procedures in place, with people and staff undertaking COVID-19 testing in line with government guidance. Staff absences were managed effectively to maintain shift cover when needed.
