The Lodge

The Lodge is a residential care home in Suffolk, providing accommodation across two houses for up to 44 adults, including older people, those living with dementia and people with mental health needs. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found staffing levels, recruitment checks, training and medicines management were satisfactory, and care was delivered kindly.

However, some care plans lacked adequate risk assessments, and inspectors identified environmental hazards posing an immediate risk to residents, including unsecured windows, unfixed wardrobes and fire doors propped open. These had not been picked up by the provider's own quality checks, and the CQC found breaches of regulation relating to safety and governance.
