The Laurels and The Limes Care Home

The Laurels and The Limes is a nursing home across two linked sites, caring for older people, younger adults and people living with dementia. The CQC found the service remains rated Requires Improvement, with a breach relating to risk management. Concerns were identified around moving and handling, weight monitoring, hydration and pressure care, and mealtimes were found to be disorganised, though an interim manager had already begun addressing several issues.

Staff were described by people and relatives as kind and caring, though care was sometimes task focused rather than person centred. Management had recently changed, and while improvements were noted by residents, staff and relatives, governance systems still needed embedding into everyday practice.
