The Laleham

The Laleham is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to up to 60 people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 44 people were being supported. Residents and relatives gave positive feedback about the service and staff support. Staff demonstrated good skills and knowledge of the people they care for.

However, several areas required improvement. Medicines management and infection prevention and control lacked effective auditing and oversight. Systems to keep people's skin healthy and prevent pressure injuries were not working well. Care plans and risk assessments lacked sufficient detail to guide staff effectively, partly due to the provider implementing a new electronic system. Environmental safety concerns, including uncovered radiators that could cause burns, had not been identified initially, though these were addressed once flagged.
