The Hailey Residential Care Home

The Hailey Residential Care Home accommodates up to 40 people requiring support with their mental health. At inspection, 36 people were using the service, 17 of whom received regulated personal care. Staff knew residents well and provided consistent support, helping people access activities and appointments. However, risks to people's health, safety and welfare were not consistently managed, with some risk assessments incomplete. Medicine administration was largely appropriate, though recording of prescribed cream applications needed improvement.

The home's quality assurance processes were not sufficiently robust. Recruitment procedures had not been consistently followed, and feedback from residents and staff was not systematically analysed or used to drive improvements. Management checks on the safety and quality of the service required strengthening to ensure issues were identified and resolved promptly.
