The Koppers Residential Home

The Koppers is a detached care home in Kilmington village providing accommodation with nursing or personal care for up to 25 people with dementia. The home maintained rigorous recruitment procedures to ensure staff had appropriate experience and character. Skilled, experienced staff were consistently on duty, having received in-depth initial training, regular refresher training, and competency assessments. Staff received regular supervisions and annual appraisals to support their development.

Staff at the service were described as kind, considerate and caring, treating residents with dignity while respecting their privacy and promoting independence. People's changing needs were monitored closely, with prompt responses and involvement of health professionals when necessary, with their advice being followed throughout care provision.
