The Hurst Residential Home

The Hurst Residential Home provides accommodation and support for up to 29 people living with mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, addiction and personality disorders. At the time of the assessment, 14 people were living there. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, following earlier breaches of regulation identified in a previous assessment that had not yet been fully reviewed.

Inspectors found care plans were not always clearly documented, with work still needed to record people's personal goals and aspirations. Staff were described as kind, caring and knowledgeable, and people said they felt safer and calmer than before. Feedback had improved since the last assessment, though shortfalls remained in safety and leadership.
