The Hazelwell

The Hazelwell is a residential care home providing support for up to 55 older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, 51 people were living there. The CQC rated the service Good overall, finding that people were kept safe, risks were well managed, and the environment and equipment were clean and well maintained.

Staffing levels and skills were sufficient, and medicines were managed well.

Inspectors found people and their families were positive about the quality of care, feeling safe, respected and fully involved in decisions. Staff were described as knowledgeable and treated people as individuals, preserving privacy and dignity. People felt confident raising concerns and trusted that improvements would follow.
