The Cumberland

The Cumberland is a residential care home supporting up to 29 people living with dementia, currently caring for 16 residents across three floors of a converted property. People felt safe at the home, and relatives reported their loved ones were well cared for. Long-standing staff knew residents well and provided personalised support according to individual preferences. However, the inspection identified that some risks to people had not been properly assessed and mitigated. Guidance about residents' needs and required support had not been consistently provided, which was particularly important given the home's reliance on agency staff to cover vacancies.
