The Glow Rest Home

The Glow Rest Home in Kingston upon Thames is a small residential care home providing personal care to older people, with only one person living there at the time of this assessment. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, down from Good, after finding three breaches of regulations relating to poor governance, inaccurate records, weak fire safety arrangements and gaps in staff training and supervision.

Despite these shortfalls, inspectors found the person living there was safe from abuse, well cared for and treated with kindness and respect. Staff were described as approachable and attentive, medicines were managed safely, and the person's care was personalised and responsive to their needs. Feedback from the person, their relative and a visiting professional was consistently positive.
