Abbeyfield House – New Malden provides personal care to 36 older people, many of whom have dementia. The home had recently experienced management instability that affected staff morale and engagement with residents and relatives. However, the deputy manager took over day-to-day operations and implemented new initiatives, earning trust from residents, families and staff. People, relatives and staff now feel comfortable speaking with the deputy manager and raising concerns, and any issues or incidents are addressed promptly.
