The Firs Residential Home

This residential home accommodates up to 57 older people, many of whom live with dementia. At the time of inspection, 54 residents were living at the facility. The home uses a visiting pod that allows relatives to access their family members from outside, operating on a pre-booked basis to minimise infection risk. Staff manage care for people with varying levels of dementia, recognising the challenges in implementing social distancing when residents have limited understanding of such measures. The service implements zoning strategies within communal areas to support safe care delivery.
