About Ridgeway Court Care Home

Ridgeway Court, in Dudley, is a residential care home providing support for up to 39 older and younger people, including those with sensory needs, physical disability and dementia. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches around consent under the Mental Capacity Act, gaps in staff training and governance systems that had not embedded improvements. Some record-keeping was not person centred, and required statutory notifications had not been submitted.

Inspectors found staff were recruited safely and understood safeguarding, and people and relatives generally felt safe and satisfied with care, describing staff as kind and attentive. Concerns were raised about meals and activities, with new menus and activity plans being introduced, and the home currently has no registered manager, with an interim manager in post while recruitment continues.
