About The Elms

The Elms, in Wolverhampton, is a residential home for up to 13 younger adults, including people living with dementia, mental health conditions, substance misuse issues or a physical disability. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found some risks were not always properly planned for, and environmental hazards including exposed hot pipes had put people at risk of harm, though these were addressed after being raised.

Governance systems were not always effective at identifying such issues.

Despite this, people and relatives spoke positively about the care, describing kind, respectful staff and improved quality of life since moving in. Staffing, cleanliness and food were generally well regarded, and care plans were person-centred. The CQC found a stable, approachable staff team and asked the provider for an action plan to address the shortfalls identified.
