The Elms Care Centre

The Elms Care Centre provides nursing and personal care for up to 37 older people. Staff demonstrated good infection control practices by completing PPE training sessions in front of residents and providing laminated instruction cards so people could verify correct usage of gloves, aprons, and masks. For one resident who relied on lip reading to understand staff, the team recognised the safety risks of mask removal and ensured they maintained social distance before communicating, balancing the person's communication needs with infection prevention measures.
