The Dene Lodge - Minehead

The Dene Lodge is a residential care home providing accommodation and support for up to 39 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 19 people were living at the home.

The home operated without a registered manager in post, and there were no effective systems in place to monitor quality or drive improvements. Records had not been updated to accurately reflect people's needs, placing residents at risk of receiving inconsistent or inappropriate care. Staff adopted a task-centred approach rather than providing person-centred care that promoted residents' wellbeing and independence.
