The Dale Residential Home

The Dale provides personal and nursing care to 14 people aged 65 and over in one adapted building. Care plans and risk assessments did not always contain sufficient detail about the care and support needed to reduce risks to residents. Medicines were managed safely, though staff competencies in this area were not formally checked. People reported feeling safe, and staffing levels were adequate to meet their needs. Staff recruitment followed safe procedures and the team received appropriate training with plans in place to keep it current. The management team provided good support to staff through supervision and regular check-ins. Residents' needs were properly assessed with outcomes recorded, and they were offered choices in food and drink. The service maintained effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals.
