The Court Retirement Residence

The Court Retirement Residence provides accommodation with care and support to up to 21 older people, with 17 residents living there at the time of inspection. The home does not provide nursing care. During the pandemic, the service implemented strong safety measures including managed visiting by appointment, regular testing for residents and staff, and immediate isolation protocols for anyone showing symptoms or testing positive. All residents and staff received their first coronavirus vaccination, which the home celebrated with certificates and champagne. Staff enhanced their hours to provide additional support, including shopping for new clothes and personal items for residents and regularly assisting with technology-enabled visits. A positive staff group and varied activities suited to individual interests helped people cope well during this period.
