The Cottage Residential Home

The Cottage Residential Home provides personal care for up to 40 older people, including those living with dementia or physical disabilities. At the time of inspection, 33 people were using the service. Risks to residents were assessed and care was planned to keep people safe, with information updated and shared with staff as needs changed. The home employed enough staff to provide safe care, and recruitment processes ensured staff were suitable to work with residents.

Medicines were safely stored and administered as prescribed, and the home maintained clean and hygienic conditions with systems in place to prevent infection. Residents were supported to maintain contact with relatives, and visits were taking place in line with government guidance. Systems were in place to monitor the quality of care provided and drive improvements.
