The Churchley Rest Home Limited

The Churchley Rest Home accommodates up to 18 older people, including those living with dementia, providing personal care and support in a single adapted building. At inspection, the home was at full capacity.

People's views were generally listened to and they were involved in decisions about the home. However, inspectors identified concerns about choice and control. One person expressed they wanted to leave and return to their own home and had been assessed as having the capacity to make this decision, but staff were reluctant to support this choice, believing the person would be unsafe living independently. Staff did not consistently support people in ways that maximised their choice and control, or enable them to live in the least restrictive way possible.
