Swerford House

Swerford House provides accommodation and personal care for up to seven people with learning disabilities, including those living with autism who require support with behaviours that challenge. The registered manager and staff are exceptionally responsive and continuously work to improve the service. Since the last inspection, staff have implemented innovative communication approaches that have enabled people to reduce challenging behaviours. As a result, people are communicating for the first time and learning new skills such as counting.

People are living fulfilled lives and achieving things previously thought impossible, including developing life skills, participating in activities, and taking holidays. Relatives report significant improvements in people's quality of life as a direct result of the support provided by staff. The service delivers person-centred support that is planned, coordinated, and appropriate for each individual, enabling them to exercise control, choice, and independence in their daily lives.
