Summerhill supports up to six people with learning disabilities. The service demonstrated strong infection control practices during the pandemic, with regular COVID-19 testing for residents and staff, and swift action taken when positive cases occurred. All staff received training on proper PPE use, with effective systems in place for putting on and removing protective equipment safely.

The home maintained important connections for residents by enabling family visits where safe, and arranging video and telephone calls when in-person contact wasn't possible. Healthcare access was prioritised, with GPs and practice nurses visiting the service regularly. Staff received additional training from the district nurse team to monitor residents' vital signs such as oxygen levels and blood pressure, enabling them to provide relevant health information to GPs when needed.
