Stratford Court

Stratford Court provides personal care and support for up to 30 people, some living with dementia, across two floors with communal areas and a dining room. At inspection, 25 people were using the service. While staff demonstrated awareness of risks to residents and responded appropriately to accidents and incidents, quality assurance systems were not being used effectively to oversee the service. Environmental monitoring systems were lacking, with no consistent recording of fire drills, personal evacuation plans, fridge temperatures, or equipment servicing. Care plans and risk assessments had not been consistently reviewed and updated, and accident information was not analysed for learning opportunities.

The home's admission arrangements were inconsistent, with the provider not always fully assessing people before entry. Visiting policies did not reflect current government guidance, requiring relatives to make appointments. Although staff felt supported in their roles, formal arrangements were not in place to routinely review their knowledge and skills or identify learning gaps.
