St Bernards Residential Care Home provides personal care for up to 43 older people, some of whom live with dementia. At inspection, 36 people were resident at the home with one person in hospital.

Managerial oversight required improvement. The provider's systems and processes for monitoring quality and safety remained ineffective and had not identified the shortfalls found during inspection. Policies and procedures were not always followed, and the management team needed to increase their knowledge of regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.

Risk management also required improvement, with staff lacking information needed to provide safe care.
