Stockingate Residential Home

Stockingate Residential Home, in Wakefield, provides accommodation and personal care for up to 25 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, down from Good, finding breaches relating to safe care and treatment and good governance. Medicines management, infection control and risk monitoring were not always safe, and care documentation and oversight of people's outcomes were lacking.

Staff were found to be kind, caring and knowledgeable about people's individual needs, though feedback from families was mixed, particularly around cleanliness and communication. Leadership was described as compassionate but lacking a clear vision and robust governance, though the provider had begun making improvements following the assessment.
