Bollingbroke House

This residential care home provides personal care to up to 30 people, predominantly older adults, some living with dementia. At inspection, 24 people were using the service. People felt safe and reported that staff cared for them well. Staff demonstrated good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and knew how to respond to abuse concerns. Medicines were administered safely by trained staff, and risks associated with people's care were managed appropriately.

However, the home's monitoring systems were not always effective at identifying issues before inspection. While some audits had prompted improvements, several concerns discovered during the inspection—including infection control gaps, inconsistencies in care plans, limited menu choices, and gaps in dementia care support—had not been previously flagged through the home's governance processes.
