The Laurels Residential Home

The Laurels accommodates up to 28 older people, including those living with dementia, across two floors of an adapted building. At the time of inspection, 18 people were resident at the home. The premises were clean and well maintained, with a refurbishment programme underway to update facilities. Staff had received training in infection prevention and control with regular competency checks, and were observed following correct practice. The home encouraged relatives to maintain contact through telephone and video calls, and had created a safe outdoor space for face-to-face visits. All residents and staff were offered vaccines and regularly tested for COVID-19 in line with government guidance.
