About Starbrook

Starbrook is a residential care home in Wiltshire for people with learning disabilities. Details of the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Starbrook is a residential care home for up to six people with learning disabilities. The CQC rated the service Good overall, finding it met expectations for people with learning disabilities and autistic people around choice, dignity and independence. Staffing levels were sufficient, recruitment was safe, and medicines were managed well.

Inspectors noted record keeping around incidents was inconsistent, though the provider had already identified this and was making improvements.

People had personalised care plans reviewed regularly with them and their relatives, and were supported to access their community and pursue activities they enjoyed. Staff knew people well and used effective communication methods. Relatives told inspectors they felt people were safe, with staff understanding risk and able to manage anxiety or distress calmly.
