About St Thomas' Priory

St Thomas' Priory is a nursing care home in Staffordshire, providing care for adults of all ages, including those with physical disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. Details of the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

St Thomas' Priory is a residential care home providing nursing care to adults of all ages, including people with physical disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. Following earlier enforcement action, the CQC found the home was no longer in breach of rules on dignity and safe care, and is no longer in special measures. However, it remains in breach of regulations on good governance, with inconsistent records and audits that did not always catch gaps.

Inspectors found kind, attentive staff, good teamwork and improved staffing, training and activities. People felt safe and praised the food and support received. Some care plans lacked detail, and people who stayed in their rooms had fewer opportunities for social engagement than those in communal areas.
