About St Mary's House

St Mary's House is a residential care home in Suffolk, providing personal care for older people, including those living with dementia. The findings below set out the CQC's most recent view of the service.

St Mary's House provides personal care for up to 28 older people and those living with dementia, with 24 residents at the time of inspection. The service has effective safeguarding systems in place to protect people from abuse, and residents receive their medicines as prescribed. Staff levels are adequate to safely support residents, and staff members are caring while promoting independence and offering people choice and control over their lives.

While improvements have been made to quality and safety monitoring systems since the previous inspection, governance processes have not yet identified all issues found during this inspection. The registered manager is taking action to address concerns raised, though some remedial actions remain incomplete. Overall, the service demonstrates commitment to supporting residents in the least restrictive way and in accordance with their best interests.
