St Mary's Care Home

St Mary's Care Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 86 older people living with dementia and nursing needs across five separate units, each with adapted facilities. At inspection, 84 people were using the service. Staff knew residents' care needs well and provided safe care, supported by regular training and supervision. People felt valued and safe, with staff described as considerate, kind and caring. Staff supported residents to have maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible. Healthcare professionals reported high-standard working relationships with the home. Risk assessments included mitigating strategies to keep people safe, and there was sufficient staffing to meet care needs promptly, with staff spending time in conversations with residents. Some records and guidance required reviewing to ensure continuity of care delivery.
