Heritage Care Centre

Heritage Care Centre provides nursing and personal care for up to 72 older people, including those living with dementia, across four units. At inspection, 68 people were using the service. People and their relatives felt the home was a safe place to live, with staff considering it safe to work. Risks were regularly assessed and reviewed, enabling people to take acceptable risks while living safely. Accidents, incidents and safeguarding concerns were properly reported, investigated and recorded.

The home had appropriately recruited staff in suitable numbers to meet people's needs. Medicines were safely administered, and infection prevention and control practices were effective, with policies up to date. Management and leadership were transparent with an open, positive and honest culture. However, following the previous registered manager's retirement and interim cover arrangements, staff did not always experience the same level of support they had previously.
