St Johns House

St Johns House is a residential home in North Yorkshire providing care for up to 35 people. The CQC found that while many residents spoke warmly of kind staff and a friendly atmosphere, a serious safeguarding incident had not been properly acted on or reported promptly, and one person received unsafe, undignified support at mealtimes. The service was rated Requires Improvement overall.

Inspectors also found call bell delays, inconsistent handling of feedback, and gaps in activities for people with disabilities affecting their sense of inclusion. A breach was identified relating to weak governance and quality assurance systems, meaning concerns were not always identified or resolved before problems affected people's safety and wellbeing.
