St Andrews House

St Andrews House provides personal care to up to 35 older people, including those living with dementia. The home is accommodated across 4 floors in an adapted building and is run by a registered charity with a board of volunteer trustees.

Inspectors found that the home remained in breach of regulations with limited improvements since the previous inspection. People were at risk of preventable harm as risks had not been properly identified and mitigated. Infection prevention and control practices were not being consistently followed, putting residents at risk of infectious illness. The provider lacked effective systems to review incidents, accidents and significant events to identify what could be done differently to keep people safe. There were also no effective systems in place to identify improvements and drive good care.
