The Willows

The Willows provides residential care with personal care for up to 32 older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 25 people lived at the home in one adapted building. While governance systems and management had improved, further improvements were needed. The provider had introduced new monitoring systems that led to some positive changes, though inspectors identified concerns the provider had not detected, indicating the monitoring systems required strengthening.

People reported feeling safe, though there were occasions when people experienced unsafe care. Issues included inaccurate and unclear medication records, fire safety risks, and some care plans lacking sufficient detail for staff to provide personalised and safe care. Staff supported people to make choices about their lives and used the least restrictive approaches in their best interests, with policies and systems in place to support this practice.
