Squeaks House Residential Care Home

Squeaks House Residential Care Home in provides personal care and accommodation for up to 29 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to risk management, consent, person centred care and governance. Risks to people's safety were not always clearly identified, care plans did not always reflect people's needs, and mental capacity assessments were not consistently carried out in line with the law.

Staff training, supervision and recruitment practices needed improvement, and inspectors were not assured staff consistently applied their learning in practice. Where people and relatives could share their views, they spoke positively about the care and staff, though governance systems had not identified these shortfalls.
