Springkell House Care Home

Springkell House provides residential care for up to 35 people across three floors, supporting those requiring personal care and people living with dementia. At inspection, 31 residents were living at the home. People and their relatives described staff as kind and reported feeling safe. The service maintained appropriate staffing levels to meet residents' needs, and staff demonstrated awareness of individual risks and how to provide suitable support. Staff understood whistleblowing procedures and how to escalate concerns both internally and externally.

The home ensured people received medicines as prescribed and had established emergency evacuation plans, including individual personal evacuation plans for each resident. Infection prevention and control procedures were being followed safely. Residents were supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff adopting the least restrictive approaches and acting in residents' best interests. Policies and systems within the service supported these practices.
