Shottermill House

Shottermill House is a residential care home providing personal care and support to up to 31 older people with multiple health needs and physical disabilities, some of whom live with dementia. Inspectors found people received safe, personalised care, with enough staff on hand and consistently kind, attentive support that was praised by residents and families alike. The home was well-maintained, clean, and worked well with health and social care professionals.

The management team was approachable and responsive, encouraging staff to raise concerns and acting on feedback to drive improvement. Some shortfalls in record keeping were found, including gaps in care plans, daily records and medicines guidance, which had not been picked up through the provider's own audits. The registered manager began addressing these issues during the assessment, and the service overall was rated Good.
