Speirs House

Speirs House provides personal and nursing care for up to 36 people, with 33 residents receiving support at the time of inspection. The service cares for older people living with dementia who have nursing needs, operating from a single-floor building.

Staff understand how to identify and report abuse, but some safeguarding incidents were not escalated promptly to protect residents, breaching safeguarding regulations. While the home has made improvements since the previous inspection, stronger oversight of care quality is needed. Additionally, although staff recruitment follows safe procedures, DBS checks are not being repeated regularly to ensure staff remain suitable for their roles.
