Southdown Nursing Home

Southdown Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care to 24 people in one adapted building. Staff demonstrated good knowledge of safe care practices and maintained a safe environment, including proper storage of hazardous substances and infection control measures. Medicines were managed safely and safeguarding concerns were handled appropriately, with sufficient staffing levels to support residents.

The home has made improvements since the previous inspection, addressing earlier concerns about chemical storage, infection control measures and quality assurance systems. However, some risk management plans lacked sufficient detail about safe care approaches, and incident recording was inconsistent across the service, potentially affecting the ability to monitor and learn from incidents. Staff recruitment processes also require further development.
