Sobell Lodge - Care Home Physical Disabilities

Sobell Lodge is a Kent care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 21 people with physical disabilities, autism and learning disabilities. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, following concerns about staffing levels, risk management and leadership. Inspectors found staff were not always well supported, safeguarding incidents were not consistently reported, and record keeping and cleanliness fell short of expectations, leading to three breaches of regulation.

Families and residents gave mixed feedback: many praised kind and friendly staff, good food and an accessible environment, but others raised concerns about agency staff, communication and unresolved behaviour incidents between residents. The provider had identified some issues already and shared an improvement plan with the CQC.
