Silverdale Nursing Home

Silverdale Nursing Home provides nursing care for adults of all ages, including people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and dementia, and a small number of people with learning disabilities or autism. Inspectors found the service inadequate overall and have placed it in special measures. Safeguarding processes were not consistently followed, medicine management and environmental monitoring needed improvement, and quality monitoring systems were not effective.

Some progress was made on staffing levels, but breaches around person-centred care and leadership remained, with a new safeguarding breach identified. Families and people using the service described staff as kind and respectful, though some felt activities and personalised support could be improved. The CQC has required an action plan for improvement.
