Silver Birch Care Home

Silver Birch Care Home provides personal care for up to 23 people aged 65 and over, many living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches of legal regulations relating to safe care and governance. Inspectors identified environmental risks, including unrestricted windows and doors to restricted areas left unlocked, with audits failing to pick up these issues.

No one had been harmed, and the management team acted quickly once concerns were raised.

Elsewhere, inspectors found positive practice. Care plans and risk assessments were thorough, staff were recruited safely and trained appropriately, and people spoke warmly about kind, respectful care. Residents felt safe, enjoyed meals and activities, and felt confident raising complaints, with families able to stay in close contact.
