Cedarwood Care Centre

Cederwood Care Centre provides personal care for up to 38 older people and those with dementia in a two-storey adapted building. At inspection, 22 people were living there with 16 vacancies. The home is staffed by five staff members on day shifts including a senior carer and registered manager, with three staff covering nights and managers available on-call.

Residents described staff as kind and caring, treating them with dignity and respect, and inspectors observed examples of caring practice. However, quality assurance systems were not robust enough to ensure safety was sufficiently monitored. The provider had not completed audits since June 2021, and there was a lack of systems in place to ensure consistent care delivery and meaningful involvement of people in their own care planning.
