Sherbutt House

Sherbutt House, in East Riding of Yorkshire, is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 19 people, including support for people with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC rated the service outstanding overall, with particular praise for exceptionally caring staff and highly skilled, compassionate leadership. Risks were well managed, the environment was well maintained, and strong relationships with health professionals led to positive outcomes for people.

Inspectors found some issues with medicines records and best practice, though the provider acted quickly to address these. People and relatives spoke highly of the care, food, activities and communication, and felt genuinely listened to. Staff understood people's individual needs and communication styles well, helping to minimise distress and support independence.
