About Provence House

Provence House, in East Riding of Yorkshire, is a residential care home providing support for up to 72 people, including those living with dementia. At the time of the assessment 36 people were living there. The CQC rated the home as Requires Improvement overall, finding kind and compassionate staff but weaknesses in how the home was managed.

Inspectors found breaches relating to statutory notifications and governance, with some care plans, risk assessments and DoLS records incomplete or inconsistent. Staffing levels and communication between shifts were variable, leading to delays with support such as toileting. Despite this, people and relatives spoke warmly of staff kindness, food, activities and the home's calm, clean environment.
