Shaws Wood Residential Care Home

Shaws Wood Residential Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 39 older people, younger adults and people living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, following up on concerns raised about the home.

Inspectors found risks around constipation and falls were not always properly monitored or reviewed, and some flooring needed replacing or deep cleaning. Governance systems had not always identified these shortfalls, and dignity was not always maintained, with some people found undressed with doors open. However, staff were found to be kind and attentive, people spoke positively about their care, and relatives felt well informed and involved.
