Shackleton Medical Centre

Shackleton Medical Centre accommodates up to 26 people requiring nursing care, personal care, and end of life support. At inspection, 22 people were living at the home.

Inspectors found several areas of concern. Risk management plans were not consistently developed to guide how identified risks to residents could be minimized. When incidents or accidents occurred, investigations did not always establish lessons learned to prevent future occurrences. While the home had a safeguarding reporting process, it was not consistently followed. Additionally, recruitment procedures were not always properly implemented to ensure staff suitability for their roles.
