Seymour House-Northwood

Seymour House-Northwood is a care home without nursing for up to 36 older people, most living with dementia. The home is now rated requires improvement, down from good. The CQC found breaches relating to person-centred care, safe care and treatment, and governance, with staff sometimes focused on tasks rather than engaging people, limited activities, and gaps in risk assessment.

Inspectors found strengths too: staff felt supported, recruitment and training were robust, and healthcare needs were well managed with good liaison with external professionals. People and relatives spoke warmly of staff, describing them as kind and friendly, and said they felt safe, though some wanted more to do.
